Lavish costumes and pounding beats reigned at yesterday's 44th annual Hispanic Day Parade on a sunshine-filled afternoon on the East Side.

Mayor Bloomberg and two Spanish-language soap-opera stars led the festivities along Fifth Avenue between 44th and 72nd streets.

Telenovela stars Carmen Villalobos and Fabian Rios served as the official grand marshals.

The mayor, meanwhile, made sure to stop marching briefly to chat with Edward Cardinal Egan in front of St. Patrick's Cathedral.
