FASHION WEEK SPRING '09

It's amazing Max and Lubov Azria have time to sleep - the designing duo handle three separate collections each season (BCBG MaxAzria and Herve Leger), finishing with yesterday's Max Azria show. And they didn't disappoint.
There were pretty party dresses - Chanel Iman was a dream in a black rayon jersey off-shoulder dress -- and casual cool looks - Ali Michael in a slouchy beige leather bomber jacket over a rayon one-shoulder bodysuit and wedges. And everything in between - a cross-cross back seagreen jersey halter dress with a ribbed seat-belt inspired belt, pleated and draped crepe dresses and floaty, airy georgette numbers. Azria's spring collection was easy, breezy and incredibly gorgeous. The colors were earthy - stone gray, cloudy off-whites, mocha and taupe with hints of seafoam, ink and apricot. And the construction was simple -- none of the exposed zippers, clasps and embellishments we've seen coming at us all week. Our favorites: the soft leather wedge and ankle-wrap sandals and the cross-body fanny pack, perfect for stashing our stuff for springtime fun at our new stadiums.
