Crown Heights

With new landmarked status and the initiation of a neighborhood house and garden tour, Crown Heights is finally getting some recognition.

Large homes, including Victorians and Renaissance Revivals, have grand proportions and lots of details. Many of the properties were built by some of Brooklyn's major architects.

Young couples with children are flocking to the area because of the proximity to Brower Park and the Children's Museum of Brooklyn. The homes surrounding it are four- and five-family properties in Italian and Greek Revival styles.

However, the area still lacks in amenities and commercial development. The recent addition of the Crown Sky Café is one exception.
