Comments: 3In the market for some real estate but can't afford New York prices? Well, get thee to Detroit -- where 10 bucks can get you the fixer-upper.
Many foreclosed houses are going for as little as $100 -- but a sawbuck will do.
"This part of town has had a lot of bad press because it was featured in Eminem's film 'Eight Mile,' " said broker Tim Prophit. "But that's 15 minutes up the road."
With rows and rows of abandoned homes for sale, the neighborhood's slipping back to a more natural state -- for Detroit.
"We can only put the boards up on the windows to protect the property," said Prophit. "We can't be here 24 hours a day to stop the squatters and the crack addicts from moving in."
