An interstate brew-haha has erupted on the Upper East Side, with cases of illicit suds being yanked from a sports bar popular with Wisconsin ex- Cheeseheads.

The bottle bungle has landed the watering hole, Mad River -- a favorite of University of Wisconsin football fans -- in a barrel of trouble with the State Li quor Au thority, in cluding two hefty fines of up to $20,000.

Earlier this month, SLA inves tigators confis cated 50 cases of Spotted Cow (pic tured), a microbrewed ale available only in Wisconsin, from the bar on Third Avenue at East 82nd Street after getting a call from an anonymous tipster.

Mad River's owners were slapped with violations for stocking the beer, which is not licensed to be sold in New York.

"I feel bad for the Wisconsin ex-pats who can't get a taste of home," said brewery co-owner Dan Carey, who denied selling the suds to the bar and does not face violations.

Another extortion payment to Bloombag. Only Party Approved business owners will be permitted to do business in the New America. Bloombag will be worth $200 Billion by the time his tyranny ends and all competition to party approved business will be eliminated.

Brave men fought and died to build this nation, weak, fat and lazy weaklings put corrupt tyrants in power to destroy what brave men built. The real terrorists are not in the Middle East, they are living in the Governor's Mansion, White House, Mayor's mansion and the mansions of all the elected "representatives" of the people.

Support the military only if we go after the real terrorists.

acid: you're wrong. You can find the top stuff in NY because countries export their best. But there was no reason for the liguor authority to bother with the few people who want to drink their home product.

What a stupid thing to regulate--a way to extract more bribes and taxes. The beer is taxed anyway, why have a special license to sell it in NY? What a petty loser who called it in.

No more than likely, a jealous low life bar owner!

That's too bad. Spotted Cow is really amazing beer. This bar pulled off a little piece of home for these people and someone became greedy or jealous. The brewer does not sell it outside of Wisconsin. Like a lot of delicacies from certain remote places you can't find it outside of that place (ie. REALLY good Canadian beer/whiskey, REALLY good French wines and champagnes, etc.) I've had people bring it to me or I've even made a roadtrip to get it (I'm from Minneapolis so Wisconsin isn't TOO far of a drive).

Howsabout the rat that cheesed the bar out? probably a sad, no-ball frustrated Giants fan. Wouldn't be story if the lard tub kept his mouth shut. Only takes one dope to ruin a fun, good thing.
Isn't it amazing tho that unless the GOVT gets THEIR cut and says you can have it, you can't? Worse than any mobster ever!
