Velvet Underground
Before Lou Reed took a walk on the wild side, he rocked out with the Velvet Underground. The New York City-based band, featuring Reed, John Cale, Maureen Tucker, Doug Yule and others, boasted Andy Warhol as its manager and left a serious impression on the music world before group members went their separate ways. Now, part of the group reunites to discuss its book, "The Velvet Underground: New York Art," which documents the band's heyday with photos, album designs, lyrics, press clippings, posters and more. Reed, Tucker and Yule will chat with Rolling Stone senior editor David Fricke at the New York Public Library Tuesday at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25; nypl.org.

No John Cale and Sterling Morrison died a few years ago. This is not really the VU. Could Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr give a press conference as The Beatles?
